Top 10 Cigars Under $10 (2021 Edition)

Here at CigarScore HQ, we love cigars. And, we love cigars that cost under $10, because you can get more great smokes while paying less! Since we published the original Top 10 Cigars Under $10 in 2018, over 20,000 people have used that list to find great cigars at a great price.

So, today we thought it was past time to update this list for 2021.

Top 10 Cigars Under $10

We've smoked thousands of cigars in the last few years, and here are our picks for Top 10 Cigars Under $10 in 2021.

#1: Rodriguez Series 84 Maduro Torpedo

Before smoking the Series 84 Maduro Torpedo, I was completely unfamiliar with Rodriguez Cigars out of Key West, Florida. With its flavor notes of milk chocolate, leather and spice, this cigar blew me away. I can't wait to smoke another one, and I'd love to be the one to introduce you to the Series 84 Maduro Torpedo!

#2: JFR Lunatic Hysteria Toro

If the key criteria for a good cigar is whether or not it's “box worthy,” then the JFR Lunatic Hysteria Toro definitely has that! Since discovering this cigar, I've bought a few boxes of these, and they're great for smoking after dinner or mid-afternoon. A little spicy, a little sweet, with flavors leather and cedar, I think you'll like this one.

#3: Drew Estate Liga Undercrown Shade Gran Toro

Another cigar I've bought by the box, the Drew Estate Liga Undercrown Shade Gran Toro is a great cigar. While I normally pair one of these with my morning coffee, the Undercrown Shade is a great smoke for anyone looking to get started in the world of cigars. Rich flavors, mild sweetness; one of my go-to cigars to pair with coffee.

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut

#4: Oliva Serie V Double Robusto

With this cigar, we have a slight deviation from the rest of the cigars on this list. While our review is of the Double Toro, the cigar that makes this list is the Double Robusto because it comes in at right under $10. I buy the Oliva Serie Vs also by the box, and these two vitolas always deliver delicious flavors with hints of cinnamon and cedar.

Brand: Oliva
Line: Serie V
Size: 5 x 54
Cut: V-Cut
Light: Torch
Price: $9.33

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown

#5: Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Umbagog Toro

If you're looking for a bold smoke with hints of barbeque, give the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Umbagog Toro a try. This cigar is full of flavor and not for the faint of heart, but I've been very pleased with this blend. While the Umbagog isn't designed to be the most elite of the DTT cigars, it doesn't hold back and delivers a great smoke for the price.

Brand: Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust
Line: Umbagog
Size: 6 x 52
Cut: Select Draw
Light: Torch
Price: $8.75

Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

#6: Fratello Arlequin Prensado Robusto

Here at CigarScore HQ, we love our Fratello cigars (most of them anyway). The Fratello Arlequin robust has flavors that are rich, spicey, and complex, with hints of chocolate and some nice sweetness. And, it comes in at just under $10. I love how the Mexican San Andres wrapper on this stick delivers a hit of cocoa flavors, and I think you will too!

Brand: Fratello
Line: Arlequin
Size: 5 1/2 x 52
Cut: Guillotine
Light: Torch
Price: $9.50

Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
Binder: Ecuadorian Habano
Filler: Nicaragua, Peru
Smoke Time: 72 minutes

#7: Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua Medius 6

Creamy, delicious, classic Nicaraguan – that's how I described the Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua Medius 6 I received from the CRA. While my stick had some age on it, I suspect you'll enjoy these too, even if you buy some right off the shelf. The blend of spiciness and creaminess will delight almost any palate, so give these a shot!

Brand: Alec Bradley
Line: Tempus Nicaragua
Size: 6 x 52
Cut: Guillotine
Light: Torch
Price: $8.90

Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Smoke Time: 77 minutes

#8: Rodriguez Cigars Reserva Privada Robusto

Very few cigar brands deserve to make the list twice, but in this case, Rodriguez cigars deserves it (even though they didn't take our critiques well). I loved the Reserva Privada and how the flavors of graham-cracker, spice, and wheat and grass paired so well with my coffee. While Rodriguez cigars aren't available everywhere, if you find one of these, be sure to give it a smoke!

Brand: Rodriguez Cigars
Line: Reserva Privada
Size: 5 x 50
Cut: V-Cut
Light: Torch
Price: $9.00

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Smoke Time: 75 minutes

#9: Perdomo 10th Anniversary Maduro Epicure

Previously known as the Perdomo Champagne Noir, the Perdomo 10th Anniversary Reserve Maduro changed its name to reduce confusion (I mean, who can say “noir” anyway). This cigar will deliver flavors of chocolate cake while coming in at a great price point. If you haven't tried a Perdomo recently, the Reserve Maduro is a wonderful reason to come back to the brand.

Brand: Perdomo
Line: Champagne Noir
Size: 6 x 54
Cut: Guillotine
Light: Torch
Price: $8.75

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Cuban Seed Maduro
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

#10: Oscar Valladares Super Fly Super Corona

When it came to the final spot on this list, I had a hard time picking what should round out the top 10 cigars under $10. However, when reviewing my notes, I knew it had to be this Oscar Valladares Super Fly Super Corona. The nearly perfect burn and draw, combined with rich, bold, and spicey flavors made the Super Fly a blend I've come back to several times to enjoy.

Brand: Oscar Valladares
Line: Super Fly
Size: 5 1/4 x 45
Cut: Select Draw
Light: Torch
Price: $9.00

Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras
Smoke Time: 68 minutes

Honorable Mentions

While these cigars didn't make the Top 10, these are still great cigars under $10 that we enjoy and keep coming back to, and we think you'll enjoy as well.

FQ Proper Corona Gorda

Adding to the boutique cigars on this list, The Proper from FQ Cigars is a nice cigar that smelled faintly of beef jerky. The smoke on this cigar was very clean and left almost no after taste on the palate, and I think you'll enjoy this cigar, too! Look for flavors of leather, spice, and sweetness.

Drew Estate Nica Rustica El Brujito

While the Nica Rustica has the occasional construction issue, the sub-$6 price point makes this cigar one we enjoy often. Similar to the Umbagog above, the Nica Rustica is not for the faint of heart and offers bold and smokey flavors similar to the Kentucky fire-cured cigars, also from Drew Estate. We've smoked several of these cigars and keep coming back!
